Community & Workforce Partners

Build Pathways
Together

SkyBridge partners with workforce agencies, reentry programs, veteran-serving organizations, youth programs, and community groups across Alaska to connect people with structured, paid apprenticeship careers.

Why Partner With SkyBridge?

Registered apprenticeship is one of the most effective workforce tools available — but it only works when the right people know about it. SkyBridge depends on community partners to reach the individuals who need these pathways most.

Whether you serve job seekers, returning citizens, veterans, youth, or other populations, a partnership with SkyBridge gives your clients access to a structured, paid career pathway with a nationally recognized credential at the end.

We're not looking for transactional referral relationships. We're looking for organizations that share our commitment to workforce equity and are willing to walk alongside candidates through the process.

What SkyBridge Offers Partners

  • A DOL-registered apprenticeship program with proven structure and compliance
  • Referral pathways for your clients, members, or constituents
  • Co-promotion of apprenticeship opportunities to your network
  • Coordination with employer training sites across Alaska
  • Shared commitment to workforce equity and second-chance employment
  • Regular communication and updates on program availability

What We Look For in Partners

  • Alignment with workforce development, equity, or career pathway goals
  • A network of individuals who could benefit from registered apprenticeship
  • Willingness to refer and support candidates through the application process
  • Commitment to honest, transparent communication with shared clients
  • Alaska-based or Alaska-serving organizations preferred

Who We Partner With

SkyBridge works with a wide range of organizations across Alaska's workforce and community ecosystem.

Workforce Development Agencies

Alaska Job Center Network locations, Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and regional workforce boards. We work alongside workforce agencies to connect job seekers with structured, paid apprenticeship pathways.

Examples

  • Alaska Job Center Network
  • Alaska Workforce Investment Board
  • Cook Inlet Tribal Council
  • Regional workforce boards

Partnership value: We provide a structured, DOL-registered pathway your clients can enter with no prior experience. You provide the candidate pipeline and wraparound support.

Reentry & Second-Chance Organizations

Organizations serving individuals returning from incarceration, those in recovery, or others facing employment barriers. Registered apprenticeship is one of the most effective pathways to stable, career-track employment for this population.

Examples

  • Reentry coalitions
  • Halfway houses and transitional housing
  • Recovery support organizations
  • Criminal justice reform partners

Partnership value: Your clients get a paid, structured career path with employer buy-in from day one. We actively welcome candidates with barriers to employment.

Veteran-Serving Organizations

VSOs, veteran transition programs, and military family support organizations. Veterans bring discipline, reliability, and work ethic that make them outstanding apprentices — and registered apprenticeship aligns well with GI Bill and other veteran benefits.

Examples

  • Alaska Veterans Foundation
  • American Legion posts
  • VFW chapters
  • Veteran transition assistance programs

Partnership value: Apprenticeship complements veteran benefits and provides the structured environment many veterans thrive in. We prioritize veteran applicants.

Youth & Education Programs

High school career and technical education programs, youth workforce development organizations, and alternative education providers. Pre-apprenticeship and youth pathways are a priority for SkyBridge as we expand.

Examples

  • CTE programs and vocational schools
  • YouthBuild programs
  • Alternative high schools
  • Youth employment programs

Partnership value: We can serve as a post-program destination for youth completing pre-apprenticeship or CTE training, providing a clear next step into a registered pathway.

Community & Social Service Organizations

Homeless service providers, domestic violence programs, refugee resettlement agencies, and other community organizations whose clients need stable employment as a foundation for stability.

Examples

  • Bean's Café and homeless services
  • Refugee resettlement agencies
  • Domestic violence service providers
  • Native community organizations

Partnership value: Stable, career-track employment is foundational to your clients' long-term stability. We provide a pathway that pays from day one.

Industry & Trade Associations

Alaska Restaurant Association, Alaska Hotel and Lodging Association, security industry associations, and other trade groups whose members need a reliable talent pipeline.

Examples

  • Alaska Restaurant Association
  • Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association
  • Alaska Hospitality Industry
  • Security industry associations

Partnership value: We build the workforce your members need. Partner with us to promote apprenticeship as an industry-wide workforce solution.

Partnership Questions

Common questions from organizations exploring a partnership with SkyBridge.

Is there a cost to become a SkyBridge partner?

No. Partnership with SkyBridge is free for qualifying organizations. We are a workforce development sponsor — our goal is to build pathways, not charge for access to them.

How do referrals work?

Partner organizations refer interested candidates to SkyBridge using a shared intake process. We follow up directly with candidates, assess fit, and coordinate placement with a registered training site. You stay informed throughout.

Can my organization co-brand or promote the program?

Yes. We welcome co-promotion and can provide materials, talking points, and program information for your outreach. Please reach out to discuss specifics.

Do you work with organizations outside Anchorage?

Our current training sites are in the Anchorage area, but we welcome partnerships with statewide organizations and are actively working to expand our geographic footprint.

What populations does SkyBridge prioritize?

We actively welcome candidates with barriers to employment — including individuals with criminal records, veterans, those in recovery, and others who have been underserved by traditional workforce systems. Apprenticeship is designed to work for people who need a real chance.
